Programme profile
Do you have a genuine interest in Information Technology and an appetite for mathematics? Would you like to work and collaborate with fellow students from all over the world? Do you want to be trained in analysing and solving problems using standard and self-designed, custom-built software? If so, then this programme is ideal for you.
Have you ever stopped to wonder how navigation apps determine your fastest route? Or asked yourself how translations apps or music playlists are created? The answer is: big data. It is all because someone gathers the data in order to create better models and programmes. The effect? A comfortable life for all individuals who use these systems every single day.
Mathematical Engineering helps you excel in software development, data science, and even entrepreneurship. In other words: in this diverse study programme you obtain all the much-needed skills for a future career in IT, using it to advance (digital) systems, mobile networks, artificial intelligence and organisational structures.
As a professional Mathematical engineer, you will be a motivated fast-thinker who enjoys working in a dynamic and and specialised environment. You will need good communication skills, and will know how to implement your analytical skills and technological knowledge. You will move from solving day-to-day technical problems to helping your organisation realize its strategy.
